One day trip to Bago
Morning we will pick you up from your hotel. Will drive toward north of Yangon.
The first stop will be at 32 km away Htauk Kyant War cemetery which was the final resting place of 27,000 soldiers during Second World War. This was under well reservation and care of Allied war cemetery. After that, we’ll drive green and open air countryside old Yangon-Mandalay highway.
The second stop will be Kyaik Pun 4 big sitting Buddha images which was built during 15 century for the first time. You will visit one of the biggest monasteries of lower Myanmar called Kya Khat Wai monastery where over 500 monks live and study Buddhist teachings. You’ll have a chance to see how well disciplined these young monks and novices and having their meals silently and living their simple monastic life. Visit Bago market, which is a typical local Myanmar style market with many different things and styles which you can see at supermarkets.

Visit 114 meter high Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda which was built by Mon Kings and suffered strong earth quakes several times in the history. You’ll have a chance to visit Kan Baw Za Thardi Golden palace of King BaYint Naung, whom was the most powerful king during 15 century. Inside the palace building, you can see over 600 years old teak wood pillars and royal regalia and famous Martaban jars used by ancient sea-farers.
We will bring you to ancient Shwe Thar Hlyaung and Sein Thar Hlaung Reclining Buddha images. At Bago, families from Mon tribes are still living and you can visit to their authentic Mon village. They are still living their livelihood by weaving, rubber planting and farming. You can see very primitive style rice mill and simple village life style. We will return back to Yangon in the evening. We will stop at a scenic and peaceful Shwe Pyi Resort.
