Itineraries

DAY 01 > YANGON

Upon arrival to the YANGON airport, you will be welcomed by your local tour guide and transfer to hotel. Yangon is the authentic and charming city in South East Asia with impressive colonial and spiritual heritage. Start the tour from city center; near SULE PAGODA- built over 2000 years ago and focal point of numerous historical events in the city. Walking through Yangon Heritage area until Strand Road, we will see Nan Thida Port for River view and have a glance of River life in Myanmar. Lunch will be your own account. After lunch, visit KANDAWGYI PARK AND ROYAL LAKE, experience to see beautifully built KARAWEIK ROYAL BARGE experience and take photos of scenic beauty together with Shwe Dagon pagoda on lake view. Visit 65 meters long CHAUK HTET GYI reclining Buddha image, which was built about 100 years ago originally. Complete our day with a visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments, the SHWEDAGON PAGODA, a gleaming bell dome structure that dominates the city’s skyline. Legends state that the scared hairs of the Buddha are enshrined here. The SHWEDAGON is an iconic symbol of the country, a sight not to be missed.

DAY 02 > YANGON-HEHO-NYAUNG SHWE-INLE LAKE

After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Heho. Upon arrival, you will be welcome by our Inle region team and tour guide, proceed by road . On the way to Nyaung Shwe, we will visit Shan Paper and umbrella making cottage industry ;Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery which was built 100 years ago. Lunch will be at local restaurant. At Inle lake region, we will also have a chance to visit shan monasteries, floating villages and floating gardens growing tomatoes, flowers and rice fields. You can also visit to local industries of Inle lake, like lotus and silk weaving, floating villages, Long necked Padaung women weaving, famous Inthar boat making homes, Burmese cats , Silver, bronze casting and carving,

DAY 03 > INLE LAKE

After breakfast, start your day with a visit to a local market at the Inle lake region five days markets are rotating around the lake according to their local calendar. You will continue full day excursion by boat on Inle Lake which will include sights of the famous leg rowers, typical floating gardens, local methods of fishing, village life and magnificent scenery. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant on the lake itself. After lunch continue journey to Inn Thein Pagoda complex which can be found after walking through market place if it is market day, following a covered stairs path and steps, lined up with magnificent columns on both sides. Pagoda complex with over 1000 ruined stupas built in local Shan style architecture and bamboo forest. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

DAY 04 > INLE LAKE-NYAUNG SHWE-PINDAYA-KALAW

After breakfast, transfer to Nyaung Shwe. drive to Kalaw and we will visit charming small town called Pindaya on the way to Kalaw. Pindaya is located 48km north of Kalaw and famous with its beauty of historic Poke Ta Loke Lake and Pindaya Cave with countless Baddha images. Proceed to Kalaw, enjoy the beautiful landscapes on the way and visit local market and walk around downtown and colonical buildings area before complete your day at the Hotel in Kalaw.

DAY 05 > KALAW- MT POPA

Today is a driving day toward bagan over green valley of Shan Plateau. On the way, you will have a chance to visit an elephant which is an interesting place to learn about life of elephants and will plant a tree (Optional pre arrangements and booking is necessary), lunch at the elephant camp and continue driving toward Mt. Popa . You will overnight at Popa Mountain Resort to relax yourself after a long journey.

DAY 06 MT POPA- BAGAN

After breakfast, climb the 777 steps to the shrine at the top of the peak. On the way to Popa, we will visit local village to learn about local way of life, Toddy Palm Plantation and experience the production of jiggery and other products from Palm tree. Have a taste of those products with local tea or have a try local palm wine and liquor. Enjoy Lunch at the Popa Mountain Resort. Drive to our main destination to Bagan, 45 km drive (1.5 hours). Dinner and overnight stay in Bagan.

DAY 07 > BAGAN

After breakfast, visit highlight of Bagan with SHWEZIGONE STUPA, the first stupa built in Bagan by King Anawratha in 1059 A.D. Continue our tour to another Cave temple GUBYAUKGYI (Wet-Kyi-Inn) with mural paintings from 12 century, unfortunately some were stolen in late 19 th century. Visit ancient THARABAR GATE and moat from 12th century with Nat statues inside the shrine. Lunch will be at local restaurant. Start your tour again with the most beautiful architectural style of Bagan, ANANDA TEMPLE with 4 standing Buddha images and sandstone carving life of Prince Sidhartha until he became Buddha. Visit NANDA OAK KYAUNG Monastery with mural paintings from 17th -18th century. Continue your tour with the most treasured art of Lacquerware factory which is the best art of Bagan handicrafts and produced since the time of Myanmar Kings. Complete your day with beautiful sunset over the beautil Ayeyar Waddy River from BUPAYA or SHWESANDAW PAGODA.

DAY 08 > BAGAN-PAKOKU-MONYWA

After breakfast, morning drive from Bagan to Monywa, which is one and a half hour to reach Pakkoku first. At Pakkoku there’s one Buddha image’s throne which is world famous for the best teak wood carving. Layers of wood have been curved for the cost of 60 kg of gold for two years work. We will also visit blanket weaving and leather slipper making cottage industries. We can visit one of the main monasteries of Myanmar where they kept traditional style. Continue driving toward Monywa. Check in to the hotel. After having lunch at a local restaurant, we will start our exploration of the city. Visit Than Boddhae and Bodhi Tataung pagodas, world second tallest standing Buddha image, reclining Buddha image and 9,000 Buddha images sitting under the Bodhi trees. Visit Maha Ledi monastery where they kept over 900 marble stone slabs recorded teaching of Ledi Sayardaw. Overnight at Monywa.

DAY 09 > MONYWA-SAGAING-MANDALAY

After breakfast, cross Chin Dwin river by Ferry or by own car depending on situation, take 30 minutes drive toward Pho Win Taung. At this place, you can see Myanmar’s unique stone curved structures built for Buddha images, mythological statues, mural paintings and other decorated items. Drive back to Monywa and will visit main Market to see their imported goods from India and their local products. Drive for 3 hours to reach Sagaing, which is one of the religious center of Myanmar since 11 century. Visit Kaung Hmu Daw pagoda built on the style of semi-ciruclar dome. Sagaing is also famous for pottery and silver and bronze casting and curvings. At the shops on the road side you can observe their intricate design crafts are on display to attract their prospect customers. Climb hill by trucks or car. Visit interesting nunneries, U Min thone sei pagoda with 45 sitting Buddha images, Soon Oo Ponya Shin pagoda for panoramic view of Sagaing and Mandalay from Ayeyarwaddy river bank. Drive for onne more hour to reach Mandalay and overnight at Hotel in Mandalay.

DAY 10> MANDALAY-MINGUN-MANDLAY

After breakfast, drive to Mingun; is situated at the other side of Ayeyarwaddy River. You will take a private boat on Ayeyarwaddy river for an hour upstream to reach this small and interesting village called Mingun. Mingun Patho Daw Gyi Pagoda, an unfinished pagoda called Patho Daw Gyi was built but left unfinished. Continue to Mingun Bell weighting 90.5 tonns, and casted in 1805. It is the third largest bell in the world but the biggest one which is hanging and can strike the bell. After that to Mya Thein Dan Pagoda, built in the form of Burmese astrological belief as Mt.meru. Beautiful architectural style is unique and you can climb to the base of the main stupa. From there, you can enjoy scenery of Ayeyarwaddy river, Mingun PathoDawgyi and surroudings. Mingun Home for aged is also a good place to study and put your contributions.You can visit Mingun by walking or just take Ox Cart taxis for fun. Drive back to Mandalay and enjoy the sunset over Mandalay city from Mandalay Hill.

DAY 11 > MANDALAY-AMARAPURA-SAGAING- MANDALAY

After breakfast, drive to Maha Gandayone monastery where over 1,300 monks and novices are staying and will perform stationary and requisites dana for all monks, novices and trainee novices=Pho thu daw. Visit The world longest teak wood bridge (4,000 feet=1.2 km) called U Bein Bridge. After that enjoy the famous silk and cotton weaving factories of Amarapura where they produced the best and most exquisite Myanmar traditional hand woven silk longies and shawls since the time of Myanmar kings. Continue to Soon Oo Pun Nya Shin pagoda, a panoramic view of Sagaing hills, Ava, Ayeyarwaddy river and Far away Mandalay. Visit U Min Thone Sae Kaung Hmu Daw Pagoda which was built in the form of Sanchi Stupa from Inda. Silver Smith Around the pagoda, local people are selling interesting products from their places, you can see many sellers of Thanakhas=Traditional Myanmar make-up from trees and Kyauk Pyin=circular sand stone to grind Thanakha and many other local products. Visit Maha Muni Buddha image, the most revered Buddha image of Myanmar covered with thick layers of gold leaves. Drive through workshops of Marble stone carving and umbrella for Pagodas. Visit Handicraft center where they make beautiful tapestries, traditional puppet, delicate wood carvings and stylish and serene Buddha statues from different materials. Drive back to Mandalay and enjoy your sunset from the view of Mandalay Hill.

Day 12> MANDALAY-PYIN OO LWIN

After breakfast, drive to Pyin Oo Lwin; the best hill station town of Myanmar and British used for summer time as Government residence. On the way we will stop at a road side stall selling fresh products, flowers and vegetables of the region. Proceed to National Kandawgyi Garden which was formally known as the only one botanical garden of Myanmar. Relax in the Garden under shady trees and scenic walkways along the lake. From garden toward the main market, we will take unique horse carts of Pyin Oo Lwin and will pass many colonial style houses built before Second World War. We will stop at some places where they welcome for visiting inside. Visit local market selling all sort of things and most distinct is warm sweaters and shawls which is the famous product of the city toward visitors and families of young students studying at Military academies and boarding schools. We will visit BE fall and Pyi Chit pagoda, which is situated on the hill overlooking the surrounding.

Day 13> PYIN OO LWIN-THIBAW (train) Overnight

After breakfast, start your journey to Thibaw by train. This railway is very popular for many tourists. This station was also built in colonial style and still you can see their chimneys for cold days. Embark on the train and your interesting and exciting journey. Your train will pass mountains, valley, streams and vegetation. Many sales person will come and sell their local products like flowers, fruits, sweets, and food. We will have the best chance to cross the Gotheik Verdict which was built since 1930. It was destroyed during second world war but it has been renovated. Arrival to Hsipaw, welcome by your local guide and transfer to your hotel.

Day 14> HSIBAW-MANDALAY

After breakfast, walk to farmer’s villages, enjoy the panoramic scenery of paddy, seasonal crops, mountain, river, observe living style of Shan villages and house wife home business (producing bamboo hand fan, basket weaving, cheroot rolling etc.) Drive back to Mandalay. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel in Mandalay.
